During my first year of college, I was so stressed out to the point that I considered dropping out. I told my professor, Mr. Haisley, and he pulled me aside after class. He encouraged me not to dropout, but not just because he saw me as a paycheck. He told me all the qualities I possessed, treated me like an equal, and gave me the courage to believe in myself. I’m about to graduate and I can tell you I’ve been very lucky in terms of professors. They actually care about my well-being and check in whenever there seems to be an issue. I’ve only had one professor that seemed like they didn’t care, and I was still able to communicate with them efficiently. My only negative comment I have about my time at UCCS is they still charge me for amenities even though I’m a fully online student.
