UIC is a diverse and multicultural university in the heart of Chicago. It is well located, public transportation is a breeze, and food places are nearby when you’re in a hurry. It is well structured to support any type of student. I was deeply involved in the science aspect of UIC, I was part of L@S Ganas a fellowship that helps minority students with their first research laboratory experience. This fellowship allowed me to be employed as a new graduate in the laboratory I was already volunteering my time in. Overall, it’s a well-rounded university for with helpful programs and people.

The level of academics, the professors and most importantly, the education that has proved to be invaluable, on a professional level as well as personal growth level. My professor’s words on the first day of class still ring in my ears to this day…”Here, you will learn HOW to think…” He was absolutely right!

When you need that fresh air to collect your thoughts you literally just have to be anywhere in this institution and I find that to be really nice..

The professors despite dealing with large classes are incredibly knowledgeable in all areas of their discipline thus providing personalized and helpful guidance. Additionally the campus is beautiful and the location is great, since it’s close to restaurants, shops and other attractions it makes it a one stop destination saving students money from paying Uber and other expenses.
