My experience at the University of the People has been both challenging and rewarding. I’m especially grateful for the fully funded scholarship, which covers the assessment fees—since UoPeople is tuition-free, this makes education truly accessible for someone in my situation.
What stands out to me is the way the courses are structured. Each week has a clear schedule with readings, discussion forums, and assignments that help me think critically and stay on track. The peer assessment system seemed unusual at first, but it has really improved my writing and taught me how to give and receive feedback effectively.
The instructors are knowledgeable and provide helpful comments. Even though there’s no physical campus, I still feel connected through the online forums and international student community. If you’re self-motivated and looking for a flexible, affordable, and accredited education, I highly recommend UoPeople.
View moreUniversity of the People (UoPeople) is indeed recognized globally for its commitment to providing accessible and affordable higher education to students worldwide. While it’s true that UoPeople lacks traditional accreditation from regional accreditation bodies due to its unique model of operation, it has received accreditation from the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), a U.S.-based accrediting agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). This accreditation attests to the quality of education offered by UoPeople and assures students that the institution meets certain standards of academic rigor and integrity.
Moreover, UoPeople has established partnerships with various universities and organizations worldwide, including in countries like Rwanda, where it collaborates with local institutions to provide support and resources for students. Through these partnerships, UoPeople can extend its reach and enhance its credibility within different regions, including Rwanda.
In essence, while UoPeople may not have traditional accreditation recognized by every country, its DEAC accreditation and collaborative efforts with institutions globally, including in Rwanda, demonstrate its commitment to providing reputable and accessible education opportunities to students worldwide, regardless of geographical location or socioeconomic background.
