    Mastering My Masters

The Good: What I liked about the school was that the professors came to German to teach the in person portion of the class. They brought real world knowledge and book skills to each of the classrooms. The professionals allowed students to express their opinions, no matter if they agreed or disagreed with the student. The flexibility of degree program allowed me to feel like I was part of the learning process, and not part of a diploma mill. I was constantly challenged by my professors and fellow students, but was done in a respectable way.
The Bad: I didn’t care for the online portion, at first. There was a bit of a learning curve which made it difficult. Once I figured out the Blackboard system, after a few failures, it became less difficult. I had difficulty with 1 particular class because I didn’t agree with the professor politically. My grade suffered, and my 4.0 GPA was brought down to a 3.95. Another professor was difficult to reach, and many of the answers to her tests could be found on Quizlet. This was a bit disappointing, because I was hoping for a challenge. The book didn’t match up with the tests, but I found that this happened only in 1 class.
The Ugly: I would highly recommend this school because the majority of the professors and staff were helpful and understood the challenge of balancing real life with college. Their support even made me want to pursue a second Master’s degree here, but unfortunately, they no longer offer the same program at the military bases. If I lived in Oklahoma, I would gladly move there to enroll in the doctorate program or earn another Master’s degree.

    a home far from home

Attending the University of Oklahoma brought back nostalgic memories for me. My sister graduated from this university in May 2019, and while she had spoken highly of it, she hadn’t quite captured how much I would come to adore this school. It has become a home away from home, with its welcoming atmosphere, kind professors, stunning campus, and impressive football team that resonates with my high school football experiences. I am grateful for the chance to study at the University of Oklahoma and receive an exceptional education.
