Of course registration can be a pain at any school, and it is at Cal State Los Angeles! Registration begins at 6AM for all students, the seniors go first and have their registration day a few days before the juniors. Then the juniors register on their day, the sophomores register on their day, and finally the freshman register on their day. As you can probably already tell, the freshmen get the last pick of classes. So when you start picking the classes most of them are full and you are left with the ones you do not want to take at this time or you have to take classes that are not required for your GE so you can still get your financial aid. So yes registration is a pain.
The workload California State University LA gives you is ordinary, the only difference is that this school runs on quarters so when you get an assignment you have to do it then because it is due the next day of class or next week. There are 10 weeks in a quarter so you will be busy the whole time but if you stay focussed you will be fine. After all you are going to college to get your degree so expect to be busy. In the end all those late writing essays and studying will pay off.
The theater and dance arts stream forms a small community within the university, particularly within the dance department. All know each other and are able to work together to achieve course objectives as well as extracurricular projects. We have learned to network with each other and with external sources in order to succeed in the professional world. We have also learned to tolerate creative differences and know how to give constructive feedback to our colleagues.
