Hanover is a magical place — and I don’t write that lightly, as someone who later made higher ed her career! A picturesque campus dotted with Georgian architecture is a feast for the eyes and puts one in a collegiate mindset. Classes are rigorous — I found my graduate studies to be a breeze after completing my Hanover degree. However, these elements can be found at a multitude of other universities. What truly makes Hanover special is the people.
I met my husband and many of my best friends at Hanover. Two of our former professors were the witnesses at our wedding. I once emailed a professor to let her know I was ill and wouldn’t be in class the next day. A few hours later she arrived at my door bearing soup, Kleenex, and cold medicine.
Hanover truly is a family, and one that has outlasted my graduation. I still see some of my former professors with some regularity, now friends in my adult life. The alumni network is unmatched in its willingness to help fellow Hanoverians in their job searches. Homecoming is truly coming home.
