The best moment I had at school was in my sophomore year last year. I took biology last year and dissected a pig fetus towards the end of the year. I know that sounds terrible, but it really isn’t. The class did a lot of fun first experiments like building a tiny ecosystem in a bottle and dissecting owl pellets to find a mouse skeleton. I think these experiences were really fun and interesting. I have never done anything like this in a class.
I think students will have more fun when teachers present them with practical activities and projects. We have more energy, so we put it to good use. We learn better when we are allowed to move and be creative. Our lives are not pen and paper and books forever. Let our students use the skills we have learned to explore the world and develop an understanding of everyday life that is sometimes hidden from us and suddenly revealed as we grow up.
