If you are looking to attend UF’s BA in Digital Arts and Sciences program, find somewhere else to go and save your money, time, and energy! It is a new program designed to scam people out of their money and time. They are not selective in who they accept into the program at all, and do not prepare their students to be industry portfolio ready for ANY of the industries they teach. They overwork you and spread you thin in too many unrelated subjects for you to be proficient in any of them. STUDENTS BEWARE! You are better off trying literally any other major at the school, because they all seem reputable and produce more industry ready graduates compared to this program. Most of the people who graduate from this program end up unemployed for years or employed in something completely unrelated, like Walmart. But in UF’s graphic design program (which is an actual established reputable major) all of the graduates hit the ground running after graduation. IF YOURE IN THIS PROGRAM RIGHT NOW, TRANSFER WHILE YOU CAN.

The UF campus is considered one of the safest in the country. Our university police force not only constantly patrols the campus, but also constantly informs students of all situations that occur on campus or near campus. Additionally, there are emergency poles all over campus where the police will show up in seconds when pushed. In addition, SNAP (Student Nighttime Auxiliary Patrol) will pick up students from 6:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. and drop them off at their desired destination. There is also a campus system called GOTCHA that picks up and drops off students anywhere in the Gainesville area until 5 am.

Whenever I tell someone I’m going to the University of Florida, it’s always a word of congratulations. People really admire my school and there is a certain prestige attached to a degree from UF. Both professionals and laypeople would agree.

I grew up a fan of the Florida Gators so attending this school was a dream come true. I keep this bias in mind when I consider my experience at this college. Honestly, academics can be great or terrible depending on the program. Some of the UF professors I’ve met really care about students and develop their knowledge. Others seem to get away with showing off class, presenting the bare minimum in lectures, and expecting extensive subject knowledge in exams. It’s sometimes disturbing that despite the huge tuition we pay to attend random classes, they find every possible way to extract extra money from students who call Gainesville home, whether it’s through traffic tickets. unfair parking or other incidental charges. I love this college and don’t just want to blow it to the max, but I certainly had higher expectations for a top 6 public university.

The University of Florida fine arts program is highly competitive. The last few years have been a great experience. The teachers are very competent, helpful and understanding. I work full time at university in the evenings and also go to school full time during the day. It was a struggle, but in the long run it helped me become a more motivated and stronger person. Finding time to work on projects and manage the work has allowed her to develop very good time management skills. The visual arts course work is very extensive, which means I have to do a lot of projects outside of the classroom. The faculties regarding classroom work space and laboratory are very clean and spacious which allows us students to work in a clean and friendly environment. The classroom laboratory hours are always open to students 24 hours a day, but they must have access with a key or ID. Overall I like the school and am currently in my final year here.

The UWF dormitories are quite large and more than adequate for students. Especially the newly renovated huge dorms they just built. The University of Florida has a very active campus life! The most popular “hangout” is the commons. The market and many other restaurants are located here, as well as the bookshop, post office and a huge hall where students can relax. There is everything from a grand piano and fireplace to table football and trivia games in this building. It’s quite a popular meeting place. The library has five floors and is conveniently located in the center of the campus. During the remaining three weeks before and during the finals, the library is open to students 24/7. I am excited to participate in the traditional “Festival on the Green” which takes place in March. We offer large sports centers. We also have a three story climbing wall. You can also rent kayaks, canoes, tennis rackets, and more on campus any time you like! There’s always plenty to do here at the University of Florida.

The privilege of attending this university made me realize the many academic advantages it offers during my studies and in the outside world. Of course, UF Gators are on every continent and in every country, helping everywhere in the pursuit of a better life!

One of the best things about going to college is the diversity you will encounter in your education. UF is no exception. Expect to make good friends with people from all over the world here. I loved the study abroad opportunities, the small town of Gainesville, the effort to make the big school feel smaller, and the experiential learning.

I developed hands on experience from this university. The professors give their best and ensure every student is brought on board. In our department of fine arts, we had great training and would recommend this institution for anyone interested in fine arts.

The program was very well-rounded and practical creatively speaking while still giving us clear knowledge on how to implement the business processes required to actually make a difference in the game and animation industries.
