I just started here. The site is quite memorable, and the school is stunning. But education shouldn’t be elevated in this manner. Really, a nearly six-figure tuition is not worth it for this institution. Core course instructors don’t appear to care much about the students, notably in SEAS. STEM classrooms are much more “figure it out yourself” than they are a collaborative, hands-on learning environment. If you want a classic, american college experience with fun, don’t come here because the culture is quite competitive. For the events held on campus, I was going to give the party scene rating a 2, but Columbia saves itself thanks to its enviable location in Manhattan. A party is always going on. That is the only consolation.
