at Columbia University

Columbia University is a prestigious institution. I had two offers, and I chose this one primarily because it was suggested by my prior advisors. It’s a great university in a vibrant and fascinating city, with a knowledgeable advisor who is also a nice human being. All of these factors, except institution status, I believe are crucial considerations when making a decision. I’d also consider the department structure and work culture, which is frequently better in public colleges. Overall it’s going well so far.
