I am one semester away from completing my bachelor’s degree in liberal arts at Lesley University. I was fortunate to receive this opportunity as I was returning to college after a 15 year break in my studies. They granted me transfer of all of my previous credits. Each course I have taken has been of high quality, both asynchronous and synchronous courses. I highly recommend checking out Lesley University if you are interested in a career in the mental health field. I am already touching into the mindset of a therapist or counselor with courses such as “Holistic Approach to Counseling” and “Foundations of Expressive Arts Therapy”. I am excited for my final term, which will include “Math for Life”—geared towards non-math majors and “Multicultural Psychology”. One of my favorite aspects of Lesley is its emphasis on race and culture studies, and the encouragement to consider how the field of Psychology is often limited by colonialist undercurrents.
