Student review [#59689] for BSc Psychology
at Calvin College

My undergrad time was largely a good experience. The professors care deeply about their students and I’m still in touch with my mentor. Unfortunately the university does not usually handle situations involving people of color and queer folks well, and I sometimes did not feel supported in this regard. The Reformed Church is non-affirming of queer relationships which has bled into how Calvin deals with such issues, making the university progressively less LGBT friendly. The quality of the academic training is excellent but for these reasons I would not recommend this university for marginalized folks.
