I had an independent major which allowed me to combine two of my interests (creative writing and film) into a double major that allowed me to take classes across a consortium of other colleges. I was still allowed to pursue both my academic interests even though they weren’t formally offered. My teachers were incredible and a small liberal arts college allowed me to build relationships with them even after I graduated. The Quaker college consortium was a highlight because I got to benefit from opportunities at Bryn Mawr, Haverford and Upenn.
