I spent two years at the American Academy of Dramatic Art’s Conservatory program, and it was a truly life-changing experience. I met some of the greatest teachers I’ve ever had there, and the techniques that I learned there I fully intend to carry with me for the rest of my life. Many of the individual staff and faculty are deeply caring and empathetic, and are generally very understanding of personal needs and emotional setbacks, while also pushing you to do your best constantly. With that said, I did have some difficulties with the school. The administration was very uncommunicative, and did not communicate schedules, changes in booking rooms, or changes in course availabilities. Overall, while I enjoyed my time with the Academy and it’s faculty, there were many issues I had with the way the School treated it’s students through it’s administrative choices.
