There are a variety of different classes in foundation year which provide students with a broad understanding of different areas they can move onto, even if you’re not particularly keen on one subject there’s likely to be a few you’ll have an interest in.
The university offers blended learning, this can be a blessing and a curse; it allows for a lot of independent study and can fit nicely around part-time work, however, the lack of classroom time can make it hard to find support sometimes if you’re struggling with a topic.
The lecturers on the whole are very friendly and helpful though, so issues are quickly resolved once you know who to ask.
The campus feels less like a university and more like a small town. There really is something for everyone. The uni has several cafés, a hairdressers, shops, even a nightclub and bar!
Overall I would definitely recommend USW to anyone looking to start adult life with a bang and make some new friends along the way
