This is a fantastic university. It has a fantastic reputation and lives up to this reputation. The city itself is overwhelmingly incredible. With the minister and city walls among many other things it is absolutely beautiful. It is close to Leeds and Newcastle, despite being a smaller city it is surrounded by many other amazing cities with great connections to both the north and the south. The university itself is wonderful. The collegiate system is a wonderful way to meet people. There is an incredible sense of rivalry as well as a very warm and homely feeling. It is not only where you love but the sports you play, the friends you make and the family you have. I study Politics which ranks one of the highest across the country. I cannot criticise this subject at all. It is very interesting where in first year I studied compulsory modules which ranged from economic, to American politics and political philosophy. It was a fantastic basis which I chose my second year subject upon. The choices were diverse and intensely interesting. After just finishing my second year I can not recommend Politics at York enough. It is above and beyond what I expected it to be. The lecturers are all so caring and always have time for feedback or questions. York is a fantastic city and university which has been fantastic for me and I’m sure will be fantastic for anyone who is lucky enough to find themselves there.
