I am a first-year student studying just psychology on its own and the University of Salford. I believe I am doing really well on this course and that may be because I’m really passionate about it and therefore want to do the best I can.
The staff in this course are amazing and very supportive, whenever I need help and drop an email I always get a response back with very good help and not a line or two. On top of that, they always offer a one to one meeting in case I may still have any questions. Another thing I really like is after every assessment we receive feedback and it is very detailed and personal for your own work so that for future work you can do better and improve. Furthermore, you have to pass every assignment which is getting 40% and above. However, if you don’t meet that pass rate you have the opportunity for a resubmit using the feedback you received in your first piece of work.
Now there are some areas of psychology I don’t enjoy and this is nothing to do with the staff or university it’s the subject itself for example as it is general there’d be certain sections that may not interest you which is completely normal. Also sometimes I do struggle with some sections as I don’t enjoy it but what makes me focus and want to do well is the teachers who make the lesson as enjoyable as possible and offer extra help all the time!
