Exeter is an idyllic spot for students looking for a place where academia and social life can be perfectly balanced. Exeter’s academic excellence speaks for itself, with a faculty of staff who are committed to nourishing their teaching with challenging and exciting content. It seems that Exeter’s thriving pastoral care goes hand in hand with how much students here tend to genuinely enjoy their learning. Lecturers and seminar leaders (at least in my experience as a humanities student) push students intellectually, whilst treating you as an individual rather than just ‘another’. Elsewhere, social life thrives as there are designated hotspots in town where nights out are thoroughly enjoyed. If you’re less of a going-out type, Exeter’s student guild forms the heart of campus and is a really inclusive environment. Admittedly, sports societies can be highly competitive and may not be as accessible as advertised. All in all though, Exeter is a place where it’s easy to settle in and enjoy your preferred lifestyle.
