Choosing a university and degree is not an easy process nonetheless the interdisciplinarity and support that the University of Essex has given me have made this process way more accessible. My degree is quite a niche subject area but UoE has empowered me through its vast library resources, conference and employee opportunities to expand my knowledge and job possibilities. Also, it counts with great academics and research possibilities. The balance between student social life and academic life is quite good and flexible. There is space for challenging the content of the classes and lecturers which is always a good base standard for any institution. Finally, lecturers are incredibly helpful if you look for them. I’ve had the best 3 years of my life studying at the University of Essex. Some negatives I would say are the lack of scholarships that support students for longer than the first year, and the difficulty of conducting research with individuals or addressing controversial topics.
View moreI loved the University of Essex not just for my course, which was informative, flexible and well-rounded; but also for the life experiences and personal growth opportunities it provided. It is an extremely international institution, with ample opportunities to work, develop your passions and skills, and take part in political or interest-based societies. It felt like an inclusive community which gives its students the opportunity to grow far beyond their education. I would recommend!
View moreI love university of Essex, I love how caring they are towards students and their mental health towards studies, they make sure that most student stay on top of attendance which is a crucial part to progressing. University of Essex implement voluntary sessions in students timetables and this allows students to ask questions and learn more about their module. Theres not much I hate about this uni they have a lot of sport facilities as well such as a football pitch, basketball court, gym, volleyball pitch etc. I would recommend coming to this uni as its a quality university to learn at.
View moreA university is a great place for students to enjoy nature. It is not far away from London, and the campus is near a train station- Hythe station. The facilities are state-of-art. Students can get many support.
View moreMy university, Essex university! Was full of amazing people and I made lots of beautiful connections there. I would recommend this place to students looking for a balance of community and study. There weren’t many dull days and you could always find something to get involved with on campus.
View moreUniversity of Essex opens her doors to students far and wide. As a female black student, I’ve never had any experience that got me being treated differently cause of my gender or skin colour. Classroom experiences are amazing as no one gets to be pushed aside due to wrong answers or inappropriate ideas.
View moreThe university is a great university. They have all the resources you could ever need including an Albert scholm library. All the lectures are put online and can be reviewed after the lecture has been done. Also, any additional work that they would advise will be found on this online platform too. They have really thought about what would benefit students. The only thing I dislike about the university is how old the buildings look from the outside, it isn’t very modern but that is part of their USP. I would definitely recommend this university.
View moreI love my university; from the vast knowledge I gain from attending each lecture to consolidating that knowledge in tutorials. Tutorials has also been a great environment (smaller groups than the lectures) to feel confident asking professionals in my field of study relevant questions to improve my understanding of law. Tutorial has also been a fantastic place to make new friends with similar ambition and mindset. This university provides you with the necessary tools you need to succeed; there is further reading and extra support classes and even career development lectures. Furthermore, all the course information is easy to find on their Moodle page. To elaborate on why I adore my university, it is full of diversity; for example, in my course there are a lot of foreign students. It’s great that I have gotten the opportunity to meet all kinds of amazing people with different cultural backgrounds. Lastly, the food on campus is amazing, it is cheap, which is very convenient as a student; my favourite food there is ‘Zest Fresh’ it’s similar to subway but without the large price tag. Overall, the University of Essex is a well-rounded institute of education, and they make your life goals achievable.
