The course has had plenty of ups and a few downs but overall I have enjoyed it. Unlike previous degrees I have studied this course has instantly given me some exceptional work experience, including working in the press area for two of Brighton and Hove Albion’s Premier League matches. Each of the sports-related modules has been thoroughly enjoyable, both with the work in class and the assignments, allowing us to learn different forms of journalism. On top of that, each of the sports modules has a great blend of different personalities teaching the lessons, allowing us to obtain plenty of different perspectives and inspirations.
On the flip side, some of the core modules can be a bit of a drag as they are not what a lot of the students were thinking they signed up for. The main one was a module called Public Administration, in which we were given a short period to learn the full ins and outs of the government and the Constitution before a particularly difficult exam. What got me through this was arranging a revision timetable that I looked forward to as well as understanding that this will prove to be useful with features when sports and the government overlap.
