I really enjoyed studying English Literature at the University of Glasgow. I personally found the third and fourth years the most enjoyable due to the course selection available. Options such as: Children’s Literature, Victorian Literature, Fantasy and Realism, Romanticism and Revolution, where all courses I really enjoyed and each covered a wide range of literature from their prospective periods. I found the mandatory courses, were also beneficial in allowing me to further develop my critical and theoretical understanding of texts. The compulsory set texts throughout the 4 years were also very diverse and supplemented one another well in terms of comparative essay work. Overall I really enjoyed this course and its teachings.
