Strathclyde Business School has been a really positive experience overall. The business school building itself is modern and creates an environment that encourages creative, business-focused thinking. The wider campus facilities are impressive too—especially the gym, which is top-class and super modern.
In terms of location, it is extremely practical for commuting by bus or train (Queen Street and Central are right there), which was crucial for me living at home. That said, Glasgow’s West End is definitely a nicer, more vibrant student area than the city centre. If you have the choice, moving into student accommodation or a flat is the best route. Living at home means you can miss out on elements of the full uni experience unless you actively make an effort to put yourself out there, join sports clubs, and get involved in societies.
The international opportunities are another massive plus. Strathclyde’s exchange network is top-tier; I am currently studying abroad in Hong Kong, and it has easily been one of the best experiences of my degree. The academic support systems back home are also genuinely helpful—I’ve used essay review and feedback sessions before submitting assignments, and the staff feedback has been constructive and approachable. Highly recommend SBS, provided you take the initiative to get involved on campus!
