Stirling is a really small town so it is important to consider before moving here.
The Uni is really good in terms of sport offerings and the level at which you can train. If you’re an athlete you should definitely consider Stilring University!
It is a really great university also for environmental science and marine biology, with good teachers that are enthusiastic about their jobs.

I enjoyed my educational pathway at the University of Stirling from it’s pure diversity and inclusion core to the education that has resonated with me over the years. I am super proud to have attended such a reputable university including a number of significant components. Stirling you have a special place in my heart!

During the course of my academic studies at the University of Stirling I have multiple times found myself struggling in applying the knowledge learned during the course of the semester to the final assessments. This is because courses are reduced to one/two assignments, which cover only 1/8-2/8 of what has been delivered during lessons and classes, which I believe is particularly counterproductive for students, who are not stimulated to be regular and constant in their continuous studying. I have experienced this issue in first person, since I have never been motivated enough by my teachers to do my best and to show my knowledge, since most of classes only revolve around lectures and seminars, which most people skip most of the times.

University of Stirling is very student friendly, although sometimes the services may take a while to answer (ex. after coming back from holidays), they will try their best to help you out. Study-life dynamic is also wonderful as you have an option to choose your class groups and shape your schedule to your needs. Overall, I would recommend this Uni to Freshers.

I like the school environment and the fact that there are many spaces to study. I also like how much care is taken to ensure that students have all they need to study. The drawback for me is that there are not as many jobs in Stirling like there are in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

I had a decent experience at the University of Stirling. Academically lecturers were generally supportive and willing to help. The campus is great although it was in construction for most of my time there. The city is very student friendly and not too expensive and is very much a Uni city. A negative would be the sports teams where there was a lack of professionalism and care unless it was the top teams that would represent the university such as sports scholars.

I think the pros of this school is their facilities are diversity to students and the good environment. There are many sport facilities to us such as football court,gym centre or indoor basketball court. They will encourage students to join more sport or other activities. I can join or book the sport session for free since I am the member in here. The sport session is included some student in different year course.

The University of Stirling benefits from its beautiful location with the entire campus spread across green hills, a Loch and the Wallace Monument peeking in the back scene. However, the buildings from the inside are a mixture of modern and old architecture which are quite hard to navigate through especially as first-year students (even speaking from a third-year perspective!).
I am happy with the flexibility that this degree gives me as during my years most of my modules were entirely up to me, meaning that I could of chosen politics even when studying a business course. This could be quite misleading at the same time though, as the first two years go by without really grounding a homogenous knowledge, making me wonder whether I will be practically suitable for the career that I am pursuing (and not only technically).
The Student Union is great – if you manage to keep up with it and get involved. Many students unfortunately are not very aware of all the great opportunities and events that the union provides because the website and communication means/strategies are quite limited or not developed enough. However, the University is quite small and it’s easy to find out what’s coming or what you missed by walking through the main corridor – which leads you to the student union bar, a solid 10/10 food and drink wise.
On the bright side, the University is vastly international with a third of its student being from overseas (including myself!), which is great. Whether for an international or local students, you will find the support that you need, boosting these brilliant years!

My overall uni experience was very positive. I met my partner of 6 years there and still hang out with the close group of friends I made there. I really enjoyed the chance to do a joint degree in Business and Psychology. I liked that the assignments were few big assignments rather than many little ones. I liked having seminars and workshops where group work could be done. I really enjoyed the social life as well, I joined many clubs, societies and sports. I felt like the gym facilities could have been better though, they’ve improved since I graduated but at the time the gym was in a makeshift container. Also, more healthy vegetarian food options on campus would have been nice. I had the opportunity to do an internship at my university as well which was really good.
