As one of the most recent students to graduate from Staffordshire University’s Esports course, this is something I can describe as being somewhat of a mixed bag overall. Some highlights? When the course had members of industry teaching as lecturers, it was an actual dream come true – so much useful information that was insightful into the industry we would be graduating into. The facilities? Also perfect. Everything that you could want for broadcasting and talent development. The biggest issue with everything seemed to be a lack of lecturer’s knowledgable about the subject, as, during 2020’s academic year through to 2021 in the middle of the pandemic, multiple lecturers were hired to fill gaps, while not exactly having the experience this sort of course demands. Overall, very much a course, where, if everything goes perfectly, it is a delight, but if not, feels like a waste.
