The university of Sheffield is a welcoming and diverse environment that welcomes all students regardless of their sociodemographic background. As a 3rd year, I am appreciative of the Social Sciences department/school and their support in assisting me with any concerns or queries I have no matter how big or small. There is a mass range of societies, activities and events to take part in, which does not require any past experience to get involved – plenty to choose from for all students! I would highly recommend this university to any prospective university student

The University of Sheffield is a very good university, with experienced lecturers who are experts in their fields. I wish there was more career help and career support in regard to possible next steps for students and support in that matter.

Three years of having an open floor to put forward my perspectives, but also to explore and criticise others – I personally have to thank the seminar leaders for continuously creating that safe space in our 1-hour seminars. Our lecturers were right; a healthy debate is essential for great research. Seminars were key. Seminars forced each student to find their voice every week and allowed us to build knowledge from each other. If you are passionate about your work, the support you get from the staff within this department is exceptional. You will thrive with their expertise and motivation alongside you.
