Student review [#79586] for Creative Writing

My experience has been positive with SHU. I am a Creative Writing undergraduate student in my third and final year. The curriculum I have found is varied, with us taking modules on fiction, nonfiction, poetry, screenwriting, work placements, and even writing video games! (These are based on the modules I took, but many more options are available).
Staff are reliable and available if you have questions or need help, even outside of class hours. They’re also accommodating and help you bring your visions and projects to life as best as they can.
I have found that the university is very helpful in developing your skills for postgraduate work. The careers team can help you with connections, and if there are certain departments in which you are looking for experience, they will do their best to offer positions.
There are also part-time and casual roles within the university that can help you gain skills and experience.
The university has over 80 student-led societies for all sorts of faiths, interests, hobbies, and lifestyles. These are great ways to get involved socially and gain leadership experience alongside your studies.
I love that SHU’s campus is in the city centre. It allows me to live and work only five minutes from the university, makes me feel involved in the community, and gives me access to anything I need on my doorstep.
