Not gonna lie, at first I was nervous because it was a new place, with new people and I did not know any of them. But at the same time, I was excited because I had the opportunity to meet new people. When I came here and started meeting everyone I could see that I was not the only one feeling this way. Everyone in my flat was just as excited as me. We had the same fears and the same emotions controlling our brains – “Will I make new friends? Will I survive on my own?” And the answer is YES. The first night when I met everyone in my accommodation was one of the most exciting nights. That is the time when you meet everyone and decide which one of them you like the most. But even if you miss the first “social” night, do not worry, I met my best friend in university on the next day over a cup of tea. Overall do not worry, here you will find the right people for you.
The lecturers are extremely helpful. They know that they are there to teach you and are ready to help us with everything you need, you only have to ask them for help. One of my lecturers gave me her personal phone number and told me to call her if I need help, and when I did she explained to me everything in a way I could understand it perfectly.
The university has a big variety of resources in the library and along with subscriptions to different websites that you will be able to use for your assignments. In the library, you can book a group study and work with your friends.
Along with that if you want to work while studying our careers center is there to help you during your whole application process. They can help you with your CV, Cover letter, all types of interview and psychometric tests. Just like the lecturers, they are here to help you.
One of the main reasons for choosing this university was the location, my mum wanted it to be close to London but not in London and Royal Holloway gave her exactly what she wanted. Egham is a very calm and town close to Windsor and Virginia waters.
Overall I love my time at this university. I can say that all of my hard work was worth it and I am extremely proud to be part of the RHUL family. It gives me a lot of opportunities to join different societies, sports teams and learn different skills that I can use for my CV. The people here are amazing, everyone is really helpful and friendly. Here I managed to meet some of the best people in my life and I am really happy to be with them every day. Everyday we are doing something different and one of our favorite activities is spending time together in the events organised by the university, going to karaoke and quiz nights in the pubs or just drinking tea together. Everything here is awesome and you will not regret your decision if you choose this university.
