View moreIf you’re thinking about studying BSc Geography at the University of Reading, here’s a quick rundown!
The course is varied and interesting, covering both human and physical geography, and you get quite a bit of flexibility to focus on what interests you most. It’s accredited by the Royal Geographical Society, which is a plus if you’re thinking about careers in geography-related fields.
One of the best parts has to be the field trips—there are compulsory ones around the UK (which are covered in your fees) and optional trips abroad to places like Iceland, Berlin, and even China. They really help bring what you learn in lectures to life.
The teaching is generally good, and most of the lecturers are really approachable, but like any uni, some modules can be hit or miss depending on who’s teaching them. The uni itself is very big on sustainability, which is great if that’s something you care about (especially as a geographer!).
Overall, it’s a great course with a good mix of theory and practical learning, though it’s worth looking into specific modules to make sure they fit what you’re interested in.
