Northampton Waterside Campus was finalized in 2018 and so my first impressions was the impressive modern look. This extended to the accommodation. As my first year was during COVID it was very enjoyable to have such nice accommodation with a living area to chill with my flatmates.
My lecturers made it clear how informed they were about topics and seemed to thoroughly enjoy what they taught us, which positively affected student learning attitudes.
Instead of the typically big lecture halls, we sat in classrooms of 10-30 which was so much better, lecturers had the opportunity to speak to us and they didn’t seem like far away individuals.
My biggest takeaway were the experiences I had and people I met working as a marketing student ambassador and school engagement ambassador.
I travelled to host UCAS fairs, took campus tours, and hosted open days, speaking to prospective students and parents about academic choices.
I also exposed younger children to the prospect of Higher Education and got to see their excitement when they realised what they could achieve.
Things that negatively affected my experience would be COVID. This is because I came out more reserved about joining societies and activities in my second year after spending the first year inside.
