The best thing about it is that it is entirely up to students when they want to work and how much, because they do not have minimum hours that they need to complete.
Although the university offers a great taste of the real working environment, it has to be noted that there are some improvements that could be made in the design of certain modules. Certain module leaders put too much content in the lecture slides, which forces them to rush through the material. This prevents them from explaining key concepts thoroughly leading to disappointment among the cohort. It is essential that the theoretical bit of the degree is focused on as much as the practical part because theoretical knowledge does contribute to better performance. However, poor module design cases are rare and students are being prepared theoretically as much as practically.
Overall, Newcastle University is a great choice for people that want to pursue a Bachelor’s degree and want to be fully prepared for the start of their careers because it offers a wide range of opportunities to boost one’s work experience, knowledge and skills.
