The university for me (cognitive neuroscience and psychology) offered me a great education, with fascinating and challenging content with a diverse range of skills learnt. I feel that the lecturers all are very knowledgable of their subject and are all contributing significantly to the field.
We were given a good opportunity to try many lab based techniques during the course which were all very relevant and had many opportunities to get extra experience.
My course coordinator was fantastic, giving help whenever she could and with speedy replies. She would also take much feedback and use it to evolve the course, which is something I think is vital and I respect.
The student support was okay, nothing particularly special, and I did hear of many people who had their queries take weeks for replies or were given poor or unhelpful answers. During the pandemic I was sorely disappointed at their effort for getting peoples placements delayed by a year, so instead would cancel these vital work experiences, a challenge I feel that they could’ve overcome.
Overall I would recommend UoM to a friend. It is a good university in a great location, you will get a solid education however may slip through the net of student support if challenges arise
View moreThe programme was great. Lecturers are highly specialised and the content is very in-depth. Very entertaining classes and lots of resources available outside of lectures. The university, in general, could have better organisation but overall it is a very good university, and the course content is just great.
