It has a great opportunity for me to be a student at the University of Manchester. I am satisfied with its teaching skills and the way students are treated here and also the course guidelines are very good.
View moreThe program overall focuses on the practical aspects which shall be applicable in the industry. Someone might think that it must be limited to designing structures, buildings and bridges. Although, I discovered that they covered a lot of aspects that can be essential in modelling, research or data analysis, using various devices. The course provided accreditation from various well-known bodies as well. Overall, for someone interested in such a field and willing to explore it further, It is a great course.
The campus has a new building that provides great amenities and will be fully functional from the 2022 intake, providing amazing experimental potential for research or experiments.
Although I feel that the fee structure especially for international students is a bit high and might force people to think twice before actually opting for the course.
A good uni although I feel as a student not enough resources / time is provided to each student, which is understandable from such a big uni but also could still be improved on, tint changes can make a large difference.
View moreIt’s a great university, located in a busy area full of activities for both the working class and students. Lecture delivery has been tremendous and the academic support for students is excellent. They have various schemes aimed at developing students for the work world such as stelify . Manchester is also an affordable city in terms of low cost of living standards and good night culture.
View moreI’d definitely recommend this university. It offers lots of resources and the staff is ready to help you with anything you need. The environment is energetic and fun to be in, partly because it’s near the city centre which is full of things to do, but also because of the amount of student societies inside the university that make it really easy to make friends and pick up any hobby. The only bad things that stop me from adding a fifth star are the staff strikes that have been going on every semester for the last three years (they usually aren’t a big problem, depends on how nice your lecturer is, but still it shouldn’t be happening) and the high prices for the food offered by the university.
View moreProfessors can be better. New engineering campus is under construction, which is awesome!
Manchester as a city played a big role in my decision to attend the university. Student life is great.
Just like most if not all UK universities, there is minimal autonomy when it comes to module/class timings selection. The studying experience overall can definitely be enhanced.
View moreEvery university is different, every course is different, what Manchester does is to choose a course you are likely to enjoy. Making improvements with student feedback every year, and the huge investment is making in the engineering department, continues to improve the standards. Manchester doesn’t settle to be one of the top universities, it aspires to be the best.
