The constant adjustment of the teaching material keeps the course engaging and aligned to the current state of the world.
I really loved my time at University of Manchester. I got a lot out of my degree but I feel like I got even more from the overall student experience.____The university has an unbelievable amount of societies. The SU and my school were always there to support student initiatives and ideas, which was pretty incredible.____And although the University is far from perfect, I do take a lot of pride in the fact that it was rated the most impactful University in the UK by The Times Higher Education, University Impact Rankings 2019 (Joint 3rd globally).
View moreAmazing social life, there are always many events to chose from. Broad international environment with societies from all around the world. Assessment is sometimes left to be done by PhD students instead of teachers which may lead to conflicts
View moreI studied Chemical Engineering at UMIST, graduating in 2003, and I can safely say I NEVER regretted picking Manchester. It is a great city to live in – The locals are friendly, there is an abundance of culture and tradition, and a lovely mix of modern and historic buildings. ____The Chemical Engineering department and facilities at the university were fantastic! ____The lecturers were very approachable and always happy to help. The library and labs were great – We had a huge lab (it was spread over FIVE floors!) ____I especially loved how easy it was to meet and mingle with students from other years in the department. Everyone was approachable and welcoming. ____Having visited several universities, I knew I didn’t want a proper campus style university that was far out of the city. University of Manchester was perfect for that. The buildings are close together (walking distance apart) but also very close to the city centre. I loved the fact that I could walk from my accommodation, Chandos Hall, to the train station in under 15 minutes. The city centre is literally just a few minutes away. ____There are loads of places to eat, hang out, walk to and see within minutes of the University. ____There is also a wide variety of university accommodation types available, from en-suite solo rooms, to single rooms with shared facilities, or even shared rooms. In addition to this, there is lots of cheap and reasonably priced accommodation available off – campus. In my time at UMIST, I lived both on and off campus and loved both options. ____I made some of my best friends in Manchester. It is a great place to live, with lots to do and enough in the way of activities to keep even the most social butterfly busy. It also provides many opportunities for part-time work for anyone who would need it.____The quality of education that is offered is top notch and you will receive a degree that is respected and accepted all over the world, in an environment that is a melting pot of culture, fun, history and humanity! ____I would recommend University Of Manchester to anyone any day!
