Student review [#24829] for Event Management
at Manchester Metropolitan University

The teachers and classes were always interesting and meaningful to the overall degree. There was lots of hands-on experience of managing events such as the annual firework display on bonfire night and the city Christmas carol concert which the class helped organise and then worked at as volunteers.

MMU was a very friendly university and student life was always fun. There were lots of clubs to join and social events that included anyone who wanted to join.

There are lots of career paths available in events management but I do feel the university needs to work harder in promoting this to prospective employers, as maybe industries see Events Management as a “party degree” when in fact there are lots of laws and legislation needed to plan events on a large scale.

Overall I would recommend MMU.
