Studying at the University of Westminster has been a rewarding experience, particularly because of the support I have received throughout my postgraduate studies. Being based in the heart of London also gives the university a strong connection to the city and its creative and professional opportunities.
One of the biggest strengths of my course has been the support I have received from my course leader. She has been exceptionally supportive through both the positive and challenging moments of my studies, and I have always felt that my concerns were taken seriously. I also appreciate how straightforward the university’s chain of command is when you need to raise or escalate a concern. I have felt that my voice is heard, which has made a real difference to my experience as a student.
I have enjoyed the range of modules on the MA Professional Writing, particularly story and the book, which became my favourite because it helped me recognise and develop my strengths as a future writer. I also particularly enjoyed the Writing Project, as it gave me the freedom to take ownership of my ideas and have genuine control over the direction of my work. Both modules allowed me to explore my creativity in different ways and helped me better understand the kind of writer I want to become.
