Overall I’d say the education lives up to the hype with very few exceptions. The lecturers are all top of their field and even the assistants (tutorial leaders) show that they are very passionate about what they do and are always willing to put in extra work. The uni environment is great, as long as you go and look for experiences you’d get to meet a lot of interesting people and your social life would not be boring. People are open-minded and multi-faceted what was what I loved about my years there. The amazing location makes it so much easier as well because London is never boring.
One thing I would mention is the general management within UCL. It is relatively slow and there isn’t much communication between the union and the student body, probably because there are around 50k students at UCL. It is understandable and I can see how it’s slowly improving, although it is sad that academic reps are either not turning up for something they signed up for or being active but also getting actively ignored.
