Best uni especially for career prospect and academia, variety of opportunities for careers, self-improvements, academia and socialising. Some departments like law also has their own common room whilst others gather in the library
View moreI am going to enter my third year studying at LSE and so far, it’s been really good! There have been a variety of modules from LSE100 to the modules specific to my degree and each has been interesting. There is lots of support from the careers department and loads of societies to join! However, there is a lot of construction work going on at the moment on campus so it can be quite loud but aside from that, it’s been great!
View moreLecturers are generally very good at their role and available to provide support when needed. Most lectures are conveniently recorded and can be accessed at any time. There is a strong focus on career development at LSE with plenty of career and networking opportunities. Facilities are modern and its location in Central London, close to other London universities, is fantastic. However, be aware that living in the city is expensive!
View moreOverall as a research university LSE ranks very highly and provides excellent graduate prospects, however, the teachers sometimes seem like they don’t care which can thus lead to a subpar standard of teaching at times
View moreIt is what you make of it. Despite the terrible student satisfaction scores, I have had an unbelievable time. The work is very challenging but worth it if you put the work in. The social life is great if you join an AU club, otherwise, I’m not so sure.
View moreBased on my first-semester study at LSE, I feel like teachers and professors are nice to get on and patient to answer your questions. However, lectures are kind of lacking organisation and sometimes tedious, that’s the reason why more and more students are less likely to attend. The syllabus of courses are well-designed and easy to access, but it still needs extracurricular efforts to make comprehensive understanding. From my perspective, social life and peer pressure are two huge problems. Most societies of this uni are career-related (especially finance), hence most students have no choice but start to pursue their career. This directly leads to students in LSE are blind to follow fellows and hardly think what they would like to do in the future. Overall, the life of LSE is enjoyable and it is a pleasure to study here.
