The course I picked, BSc Financial Mathematics and Statistics is one of the most demanding courses at LSE, but is worth it, as the work you put in ultimately translates to your results. You do have leisure time to go out and spend time with friends as well as studying. The work ethic at LSE is overall very strong, with people pushing each other to work as hard as they can.
View moreJust ordinary. Professors, courses, and projects are good but ordinary. I would expect that a so-called G5 college can impress me, but it does so only in negative ways. Maybe because I only choose some general courses. I would advise others to choose courses that focus on a small topic.
View moreBest uni especially for career prospect and academia, variety of opportunities for careers, self-improvements, academia and socialising. Some departments like law also has their own common room whilst others gather in the library
View moreI am going to enter my third year studying at LSE and so far, it’s been really good! There have been a variety of modules from LSE100 to the modules specific to my degree and each has been interesting. There is lots of support from the careers department and loads of societies to join! However, there is a lot of construction work going on at the moment on campus so it can be quite loud but aside from that, it’s been great!
View moreThe diversity of the societies and activities at the university and the vast range of events that are organised for our benefit is overwhelming. It is a very friendly and productive environment with a supportive pressure to perform well and a very career-driven atmosphere.
View moreLecturers are generally very good at their role and available to provide support when needed. Most lectures are conveniently recorded and can be accessed at any time. There is a strong focus on career development at LSE with plenty of career and networking opportunities. Facilities are modern and its location in Central London, close to other London universities, is fantastic. However, be aware that living in the city is expensive!
View moreOverall as a research university LSE ranks very highly and provides excellent graduate prospects, however, the teachers sometimes seem like they don’t care which can thus lead to a subpar standard of teaching at times
View moreThere is a really good emphasis on getting internships and a career focus, whether for commercial/industry jobs or for research roles. The societies outside of the AU are also very wide-ranging and inclusive
View moreIt is what you make of it. Despite the terrible student satisfaction scores, I have had an unbelievable time. The work is very challenging but worth it if you put the work in. The social life is great if you join an AU club, otherwise, I’m not so sure.
View moreGood university to get you where you want to go i.e. career prospects are great
Social life is not as good as a lot of other unis (a lot can be improved)
Facilities and buildings are good and constant improvements are taking place
