The general standard of education has been good

The university is one of the leading establishments in my programme and has given a good standard of education, especially considering the pandemic impacted face to face teaching. The extracurricular life is also good and I have enjoyed the societies

Great uni experience in terms of extracurriculars

Fun but could be more inclusive for international students. Lots of extracurricular activities that you can get involved in. Lots of options of food on campus at the different cafes. Overall a pleasant experience, but accommodation could be modernised and cheaper.

Imperial College has world class facilities but

I feel like since it’s a STEM university, you’re going to meet a lot of like minded people. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with that but after a while, it gets quite bland in terms of social life, etc since you’re going to be hanging around with medics, engineers, physicists, computing scientists or mathematicians. There isn’t that much variance in personalities and it can get boring.

    Exciting opportunities

I would recommend the university, there is diversity and culture in a place like London and imperial is at the heart of it. It also has plenty of clubs and societies to join that allow you to interact with many different people and cultures

    The style of teaching.

The uni has its ups and downs, in certain areas I have enjoyed the teaching, such as tutorials, certain group sessions etc. Some of the teaching. Modules do seem a bit tedious and although they have to be done, could be made more interesting or shorter. In other areas, there isn’t enough focus on actually teaching, it’s more like here are some videos, here are some notes now learn and come back.
It does give good opportunities with clubs and shows and events to perform in, there is an endless possibility of clubs to join and this is to enjoy a lot.

    Great uni to study at

I love my university – nothing is perfect but I’ve had the most amazing first year. The staff are inspired and the content is great (probably helps that I love my degree). South Ken is a beauty and I’m loving the London life. Extracurricular wise, there’s so much to do. Missing it so much!!!

    Underrated

    – highly respected degree near par with Oxbridge, prime location, great employability (perhaps the best of all UK universities), the facilities are great and the opportunities are what makes this place stand out – there are so many opportunities for students to take their degree further and get more involved in their areas of interest and pursue them

    An inclusive international community

While Imperial might have a reputation for being relatively dull and studious, its ethos is heavily supported by a huge variety of cultural clubs and diverse events that could cater to any student. Societies range from those of different nationalities to hobbies such as skydiving or jamming; they provide a great opportunity to get involved with university life and have a meaningful student experience, apart from the renowned education.
