I started in imperial college in 2019 with a master’s of engineering in mechanical stream. The course is very flexible and I am able to take it at my pace. The college provides ample opportunities for internships that will enhance your profile.
View moreThe college offers a great mixture of lectures, focused tutorials, and lab experiences to provide you with a deep and insightful learning experiences. The campus is full of amazing facilities which you can take full use of through participation in its various clubs and societies and individiual research.
View moreImperial is an amazing university due to its faculty and the teaching standards. Many tutorials are organised for asking question and clearing away confusion, the support from the teachers is amazing. On top of that the teaching environment is really good as it really makes you want to learn more. To get you away from the stress of studying, Wednesday has been given for society activities. The best part of that is that there over 150 societies that you can join, which is always great.
View moreI believe Imperial College London is a very well renowned university. It is academically rigorous, however, the exposure to and interaction with world leading researchers is a massive plus. The diverse student body is something I liked as well. In addition, the support I have received at the university has always been extremely helpful and caring
View moreRegarding the Academic perspective, Imperial College London is a fantastic University. I was taught mostly by amazing professors, who conduct high-calibre research and who are wonderful teachers. However, when it comes to diversity, (i.e. students from other disciplines), Imperial is a science school, so there is a limited chance to meet students with a very different mindset. In addition, when it comes to nurturing well-rounded individuals, Imperial lacks in that since there is a massive focus on the academics.
View moreIt is very demanding and requires lots of dedication, but offers many opportunities for co- and extra-curricular activities and grants a highly regarded degree once completed. It does well in preparing students for a professional environment whilst maintaining a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
View moreImperial has great teaching facilities for engineering, lots of labs and a machine workshop. Lots of technical support from professors and tutors.
However, sports facilities are lacking as they are far from campus.
View moreImperial College London is an amazing university in terms of reputation and opportunities. From amazing research to great opportunities within your field or even in finance or banking, Imperial opens some of the best and most exciting doors for you after graduation. But this does come at a price, the workload is some of the highest there is even within top ranking universities. Some people do struggle with mental health issues due to the pressure and is is advisable that you seek help if you ever struggle to cope. The university does have a good team of counselors and looks to help students if they take the first step and try to raise awareness. Imperial College expects their students to fully commit to their course and come out with a very large amount of knowledge unlike other universities where although students have a high workload, the diploma at imperial is earned through gaining knowledge rather than simply passing exams and forgetting about it as you go through. You will be asked to learn on what has previously been taught. Furthermore Imperial has a great load of different societies so that offer anything from light opera, to ice hockey, rugby or robotics.
View moreVery good quality courses – materials provided, professor attentiveness, calibre.
Able to teach high level courses to cater to better students, but assistants are available to help weaker students. Good.
