LSE is a truly inspiring place. You will meet people from countries all around the world who come from very different academic and professional backgrounds. This is especially fruitful at a university that specializes in social sciences because it allows students to broaden their horizons and learn from each other. Looking back at my year at LSE I am not only grateful for the excellent teachers but also for the discussions taking place outside the classroom. Having said that, the teaching staff at LSE is outstanding and very friendly and helpful. There is an active open door policy at the university which means you can talk to any professor of any department. Everyone will be happy to assist you in any way they can. However, keep in mind that you will not be babysat – you are expected to take the initiative yourself and be very independent. Especially at the postgraduate level, it is extremely important to be able to study independently. The workload is very intense and students are expected to be very organized and efficient in managing their time. Overall, LSE offers a fantastic study experience and equips every graduate with skills, confidence, and not least a valuable network for their professional lives after graduation. I highly recommend it!
