Firstly I’d like to say the teaching staff were fantastic and I couldn’t fault them.
However the hours were disastrous. Paying £9000 a year and we were barely in. Then our timetable was badly planned as we’d be in one lecture/seminar/teaching activity on one side of town and then has to trek to the other side straight after for another lecture. It wasn’t well planned out.
The lack of options in 3rd year were bad too. A lot of the options myself and classmates put down, we were late told it was no longer running and we had about 5 modules to pick from none of which were really what we wanted to do. Additionally the majority of our degree covered other aspects rather than directly what we were interested in.
Unfortunately as our degree was a combined honours degree it felt like we were thrown in the middle across two schools and we didn’t really fit in. We never had any lectures that was just our course so it was harder making connections for just our course.
Additionally the student university experience is lacking with no student guild or something similar. The campus is across the whole city which makes the experience harder too.
