I spent four years at the University of Leicester studying for a BA in French and Spanish. I would consider that period of my life to be one of the most impactful. Firstly, the way I secured admission could be classed as a miracle, as I had to apply via clearing and the person I spoke to when I called to find out what f there was any space on the course, admitted me due to the fact that he liked my name. The time/experience as a student in the University was filled with many pleasant memories, it moulded my character and enabled me to accomplish new feats; for example I was a fashion writer in the Ripple, the University of Leicester’s newspaper. I also went on a year abroad to France and Spain and learnt how to adapt to new environments/cultures. My university days were also pivotal in helping me form lifelong friendships. It is an experience that I will always treasure.
View moreI personally would rate this university 2.5 stars. Having started two different degrees at this university I have discovered that they have very poor communication throughout the departments and also to you personally. Although I adore the course that I’m currently studying, I have had nothing but problems since I started at the university. However, they give exceptionally good support for students with SplDs and the majority of the staff are very supportive and understanding.
