Student review [#20944] for Environmental Sciences
at Leeds Beckett University

Firstly I’d like to say the only thing I liked about the university was the campus. It is nice and clean and suitable for learning. What I hated the most was the lack of care and support from some of the lecturers the university staff. For instance, I was supposed to hand in an assignment in January but my father sadly passed away and I was grieving. Therefore, I was not in the correct frame of mind to be able to submit the work so I contacted the course leader and she advised me to still hand in the assignment on time. I believe this was absolutely disgusting and callous of her as she put her job before supporting my emotions and allowing me to grieve first. Moreover, this showed me the true colours of some of the staff and in addition to that lecturers do not mark students work on time. They give a deadline which they fail to meet and however expect us to meet our deadlines. This is extremely unfair and shows that they do not value students’ time. There’s a time the whole course (MSc Environmental Health 2020) did not receive their results for 3 months! This is also partly the university’s fault for not hiring enough staff. Overall I do not recommend attending this university as it is the worst.
