Ups and Downs of Being at Goldsmiths

Doing a Masters at Goldsmiths has its pros and cons depending on the field of study. Since the year is split into terms and modules, and there’s only one core module, the students I share a class with aren’t the same in all of them. This was a wholly different experience for me as an international student from India. I would consider this as a disadvantage because I could not form any meaningful friendships through a classroom set up. Apart from this, my experience at Goldsmiths has been great so far except for the strike action that took place across terms. It didn’t allow me to gain a sound experience of Uni life.
The silver lining to this experience has to be the people and the atmosphere itself. If you seek them out, Goldsmiths is one of those places where you’ll definitely like-minded people who share similar interests as you. I am lucky to have found people from different countries who not only help me grow as a person but also push me to achieve greater things.
I am really glad to be a part of this esteemed institution.
