    Very beautiful and diverse

A relatively large campus, located in the centre of Edinburgh. Variety of interesting subjects to study. Lots of cafes and accomodation around. The best courses get filled up very fast, so you have to be quick to get on them.

    Course content

In terms of my programme, I would say that I have enjoyed the content of my course more than anything. I came to University with a strong interest in politics and I feel that when it comes to graduation next summer that strong passion for the subject will remain. However, there are aspects of the course and my degree programme which I am less than satisfied with. The student support services both within the school of politics and the university, in general, are shockingly bad. The university seemingly makes it very difficult for students to see someone on campus if they need help. Within the school, it is hard to identify who is there to help if you need help and the support offered related to my degree is less than satisfactory.

Busy and easy to get involved

The University of Edinburgh is a large institution with many opportunities to get involved and learn. There are many excellent degree programmes and many interesting and competent lecturers. Since it is quite large, it can at times feel overwhelming and a bit like you are just a tiny fish in a big pond, however, this can also be used to your advantage as there are countless of opportunities to get involved, both through your academics and extracurricular. Edinburgh is a lively student city, and you are sure to find something that you find interesting.
