I went to the Dubai campus, and I believe the experience was not completely a wholesome experience of going to university, one thing that I completely enjoyed and felt like a really good socially interesting activity was dragon boating, the clubs in the Dubai campus apart from this one are not taken seriously, as a result any extra curricular skills developed are limited.
View moreAs an interior designing student we do not have abroad trips like other universities. This limits our exposure to a broader level of knowledge.
Another Issue is with the fees. I consider 63,000 to be categorized as an unreasonable amount for a course that doesn’t provide us with better and different ways to gain knowledge. It would’ve been reasonable if they included trips. So I’m really disappointed.
Heriot Watt University Dubai Campus is surely one of the best in the UAE. Although, it is not Attested by the government (which is something they don’t tell you). Hint: Universities that get ratings only have to go through that because they aren’t attested lol.
It’s a pretty good system here at HWUD, although as and Interior Design Student, I can surely say that the facilities for us as little to none. There’s no effort put by the ID faculty, and there are never any improvements made. It’s extremely pricey too, not worth the fee. Scholarships are tough to get, too.
University has really great working space for the school of textiles and design. The studios are open anytime for students to work. Few of the professors are really great and encourage students to work harder. It’s one of the good Universities for fashion and interior design in Dubai.
View morestudying interior design, it’s a very diverse course looking at different aspects including graphic design, etc.
improvement could be achieved in teaching softwares mainly as not much input is given there rather than the other subjects.
student life is good, more events required
It is a great opportunity to learn how to deal with the different difficulties. This university provides a lot of information and interesting events.
They try their best to help every student on the campus, by taking the time to talk to them.
I would recommend this university to mathematics and textile industry students as its a great place to start the career.
Helpful and attentive professors and lecturers. Communication with lecturers regarding feedback and general queries is effective and quick. Lectures are interesting and engaging with home tasks that further understanding of course. Modern campus with great facilities and an abundance of study spaces.
View moreHeriot-Watt does create an atmosphere of striving to achieve greatness, although the facilities on campus are not equal over courses. I felt that for the interior design course specifically, there is a lack of useful facilities. Those that were open to us had very restricted times and were in Galashiels making them difficult to use.
View moreHeriot-Watt University is great in regards to collaboration, as it allows students from different disciplines to collaborate on projects and work together as they would in the Construction Industry, allowing students to have real-life experiences of working in the industry.
