I studied a four-year course at the University of South Wales. I enjoyed the foundation year, which gives students who may not have had the required grades at A-Level or have been away from education for some time as was the case with me. The tutors are on the whole very good and encourage you to get the best out of yourself. The course was very varied and offered a good broad timeline in regards to history. The emphasis on occasions can sometimes be on the lecturer’s own research rather than making life easier for the student and this can definitely be a down point. The administration of the university really lets the who program down. Things sometimes appear to be set up just to make things more difficult. All in all the university is a pretty shambolic environment but some of the academic staff make up for that.
