It was a positive encounter. The faculty was kind, helpful, and cordial. The student body was excellent, and everyone was friendly. The course material left me a little bit unhappy, but overall I thought it was fine.
View moreI enjoyed my time at Cardiff University. It was a really fun environment to be in, the city isn’t too big so it was really easy to meet people. I liked that the university accepts a large number of international students, so it was easy to meet people from all over the world.
I stayed in private accommodation, rather than the university halls, and absolutely loved where I lived. It was right in the city centre, and because everything is so close in Cardiff, it was a really convenient place to be.
I found the lectures interesting, and I really enjoyed the topics I chose in my final year. The only issue was the lack of help I received in my final year and issues with contacting and communicating with my tutor and some lecturers. I found myself pushing to get responses and severely lacked support, and guidance when it came to my final project and exams. This wasn’t the case for everyone, and some had great experiences.
The main thing I would highlight is to bring issues you have up with lecturers early and to communicate clearly with your tutors and lecturers if there is something you require, be it guidance, or extra information. It is very easy to get lost in the sea of students and often when you request some help or to have a query cleared, it is too late.
When I went through a difficult time however, the university was extremely helpful, and I will forever appreciate how they considered my case and made the appropriate adjustments for me. It was their understanding that enabled me to graduate with the grade I did.
Overall Cardiff is a wonderful place to study. The city is affordable, it is easy to meet people and it is a very safe place.
