The social school of science environment was very friendly & welcoming. I loved it from the moment I visited on open day 3 years ago. However, some students I felt got more support from lecturers than others. I’ve experienced this many times, along with many of my fellow students who felt the same. As one of many examples, I was told by my dissertation supervisor that she could only read each of my chapters once, as those were the rules. However, the majority of my student peers had their chapters read multiple times by their supervisors & had considerably more feedback prior to their submission. For a module as heavily weighted as the dissertation, I really didn’t think this was fair.
